All primary teachers (except for Key).
In both the web series and the television series of the franchise, characters appear in the role of antagonists. A majority of them are the teachers of each episode. These characters educate or attempt to educate the main characters (more specifically Yellow Guy, Duck, and Red Guy) about a particular topic, most of the time, but not always, through a song. They are based on similar characters observed in educational children's shows, but differ from them in that they almost always result in being villainous, somewhat strange, or both.
Teachers are central to the plot and appear in all Don't Hug Me I'm Scared episodes to date. They are able to be divided into two main groups: the main or primary teachers, who occupy major roles, and the minor or secondary teachers, who occupy minor roles.
Similar to that of the main characters, the in-universe origin of teachers is unknown. Smart Yellow Guy comments on this by stating, "They just turn up and tell us what to think? Where do they even come from?"
